The Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation would like to thank Joan Cusack, our board member, American Girl and Picturehouse for sponsoring us at the Chicago Movie Premiere Kit Kittredge: An American Girl. It was a night to remember, supporting early detection pancreatic cancer research and outreach programs. At the AMC River East 21 theaters, the stars of the movie Joan Cusack, Abigail Breslin and Chris O' Donnell walked the red carpet and signed autographs for the excited fans. The movie was a phenomenal story for adults and children alike. It had feel good humor as well as great lessons for children.
"The Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation was very honored to be part of this exciting movie event for families. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Joan Cusack, Picturehouse, and the American Girl company for giving us this unique opportunity to raise funds for our mission. The movie clearly illustrates that when times are tough, working together and pooling resources can overcome obstacles." said Lynda Robbins, Executive Director of the Rolfe Foundation.
Following the movie, all the excited adults and children boarded trolleys and were whisked away to the American Girl Place to enjoy an outstanding plethora of food, and a chance to mingle with the stars of the movie. There were many activities, and exclusive shopping for the guests to enjoy.
American Girl is donating 10% of the evening's sales to the Foundation. The proceeds will support early detection pancreatic cancer research and support services for patients and families.
