The sun was shining as the Rolfe Foundation Young Professionals Board (YPB) set out on Lake Michigan for their third annual Cruisin’ for a Cure. Over 200 YPB supporters took in a spectacular sunset; enjoyed live music, dancing, and fireworks; and helped make this year's Cruisin’ another smashing success.
All in all, YPB raised over $36,000 that will further power the Foundation’s mission, and go directly towards funding early detection pancreatic cancer research.
In addition to selling out of event tickets for the second year running, this year’s Cruisin’ saw YPB raise nearly 25% more money in charitable donations than the previous year.
“It just continues to grow,” says YPB President Gordon Rosen. “YPB members work diligently to raise awareness of our mission, and the interest in events like Cruisin’ grows directly out of those efforts. I already can’t wait for next year’s event. It’s going to be even bigger and better.”
It takes a lot of effort to make events like Cruisin’ such a success, and YPB would especially like to acknowledge the dedicated work of event chair Robin Goldberg, the moving and insightful presentation of Rolfe University of Chicago research fellow Dr. Kinga Skowron, the generosity of our wonderful sponsors, and of course (most importantly), the on-going passion of you, our supporters.
You commitment fuels all of our work, and continues to bring us closer to a cure.
