Eden Schenk, a young woman from the suburbs of Chicago, supports the Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in honor of her grandfather. "My papa was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer two years ago. I knew I didn't want him to fight this horrible disease alone, so I chose to do something to help," said Schenk.
When Schenk decided to do her Mitzvah Project she knew that she wanted the Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation to be the beneficiary of the funds raised. She believes in Rolfe's mission and in the hope that an early detection test will eventually decrease the amount of people fighting this disease.
She made and sold bracelets, necklaces, and chokers to help raise awareness for pancreatic cancer. From this venture she raised hundreds of dollars and she isn't looking to stop anytime soon. She plans to continue this project in her grandfather's honor.
Schenk understands how devasting a pancreatic cancer diagnosis can be and is very grateful that her papa is able to stay strong each and everyday. The fight to raise awareness and funds for early detection research isn't easy or simple. But, she said it best, "We are in it together!"
We truly are in it together. Rolfe appreciates the dedication and support from Eden Schenk and all our supporters - THANK YOU!
