Pure Barre Deerfield strives to make their studio an inviting and welcoming community where clients feel supported both in their fitness and overall life goals. They want to make each client feel healthier, stronger and more confident in themselves. They also extend this network of support outside of the studio walls. The staff of Pure Barre Deerfield are ingrained in the fabric of their local community and believe in giving back.
In August 2014, Pure Barre Headquarters brought the entire Pure Barre family together for their first ever Pure Give Challenge to raise money for special causes all over the country. Pure Give is back in action again this year!
"We wanted to pick a charity that was close to the heart of our community. So many members of our community are active in charities around our area for many reasons, and choosing just one was hard! Read the personal letter, to the left, from member, Rachel Sheinkop, to learn about her story..."
Dear Pure Barre Friends,
Leana asked me to write a few words about why The Rolfe Pancreatic Cancer Foundation is dear to my heart. I barely knew about this evil cancer until the phone call came in from my mom and dad telling me my worst fear. My mom, my strength, my solver of problems, my BEST FRIEND, had pancreatic cancer and the doctors told them to get their affairs in order. If you knew my parents and family, you would understand why they refused to give up. My mom fought this wretched disease for 2 1/2 years. My dad and family watched her ignore all the pain and endure all the treatments with a smile on her face. Pancreatic cancer, unless detected in its very early stages, stops for no one; no matter how brave they are. My mom lost her courageous battle and I lost a part of myself I will never get back. I miss her just as much today as the day she died. Sometimes, even more.
I began to get involved with the Rolfe Foundation as a kind of therapy. They welcomed me with compassion and understanding. Now I am on a mission: no spouse, child, grandchild or friend should have to lose someone to pancreatic cancer. No human being should have to endure the agony of this evil. The foundation IS making a difference with funding for early detection and helping families who need avenues for care.
I want to thank Leana and the Pure Barre staff for opening their hearts to us. My mom would have loved your studio. She worked out almost every day. We would have come together and you would have adored her.
With gratitude and love,
Rachel Zucker Sheinkop
